Everything about the hosts and property were spot on - a lovely house and garden from which to explore the coast.
I would highly recommend a stay at Birdie Cottage. The house is beautifully decorated and absolutely immaculate. It has everything you will need including a well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, powerful showers and a stunning garden. You just can’t help but relax.
The house is well situated to enjoy the local beaches (we visited a different beach each day), golf courses (husband golfed at 4 different courses in the week) and if you have young children Alnwick gardens and castle are a must. There are lovely walks along the coast or inland and the cycle paths are accessible from Lesbury also. Alnmouth is a short 15-20 minute walk and has a lovely beach and beer gardens (not too busy and easy to socially distance whilst giving a feeling of normality during these strange pandemic times!). Also Marks and Spencer , lidl, Aldi, Sainsbury's and Morrison's have stores in Alnwick 4miles away so no need to haul a lot of provisions for the stay.

Just back from Birdie Cottage and missing it already - beautiful cottage with great garden and so much to do in the area. Booked for next year already can’t wait !

Traveled up from London on a 6pm train to Alnmouth for a winter weekend. Very good location, 10 min walk from the station and easy to access the key through a lock box. We were greeted by a very cosy, warm home where we immediately settled in with a glass of wine by the log burner which took minutes to light. Great kitchen for cooking in and some seriously comfy beds. Biggest plus point of all is the 'secret' gate entrance to the Coach Inn which is within walking distance in seconds. All in all a lovely winter break, we can't wait come back in the summer. Thanks Birdie Cottage!
